Mistra TerraClean concluded – Final report published

After nine years of research and innovation, Mistra TerraClean has now concluded. The programme brought together academia, research institutes and industry to develop smart materials and systems for cleaner air and water—guided by a clear focus on functionality, interactivity, and safety and sustainability across the full life cycle.

Over the programme period (2017–2025), Mistra TerraClean delivered, among other outcomes:

  • 8 years of research and innovation
  • 28 industry partners, 4 universities and 3 research institutes
  • 43 scientific publications, 26 conference presentations, 17 reports
  • 3 PhD theses, 2 patents and 2 spin-off companies launched

The final report summarizes the programme’s approach, results and key lessons learned, including work across Clean AirClean WaterSmart MaterialsSmart Devices, as well as methodological advances supporting Safe and Sustainable by Design.
